Design Tools Used by Whole Grain Design

Anyone who designs for the web or print needs to have command of several types of tools. Word processing and typography tools are necessary for copy. Vector drawing tools are needed for illustration. Image manipulation tools are required for photos and other images. And more esoteric programs such as Flash and javascript libraries are used to provide multimedia and a richer user experience.

None of these tools is particularly hard to learn (although mastering them can take years). Without some underlying artistic ability, though, even an expert cannot create quality material. Harder yet is learning to integrate all the necessary tools to create a consistent, harmonious project.
